Shanghai celebrates the International Year of Astronomy with the Science of Aliens

The Shanghai Science and Technology Museum has chosen The Science of Aliens to mark this year’s International Year of Astronomy.

The exhibition, which opened on June 10th and runs to August 31st, is the landmark event in this year’s many activities offered by the museum to highlight our exploration of the universe.

The exhibition is presented in dual language Chinese and English, and has been extremely well received by press and public alike.

The Science of Aliens is the biggest and most in-depth exhibition of its kind to examine the possibility of life on other worlds, including explorations of space and astronomy as well as evolution and ocean life. Showing now for the first time in the People’s Republic of China, the exhibition has been seen by almost 1.5 million people in the three years its been touring the world.

The Shanghai Science and Technology Museum first opened in 2001 and receives around 2 million visitors per year. With over 65,000 m2 of exhibition space and four special purpose theaters making it the largest film city in Asia, the museum has established itself as one of the premier scientific institution in the region.
