The Science of Aliens is a hit for the Musée de la Civilisation
18 May 2009
Exhibition seen by 50,000 vistors in first 10 weeks.
The Musée de la Civilisation reports that The Science of Aliens has proved to be a big draw to the museum, with visitor numbers hitting 50,000 in just under 10 weeks.
Over 93% of all visitors to the museum have visited the Science of Aliens, says Thérèse Beaudoin, Chargée de projet d'exposition at the Musée de la Civilisation. "This is an excellent result!" she says. "It also means that most of our visitors came to see this specific exhibition. It is really good."
This follows the spectacular launch event organised by the museum at the exhibition opening on February 25th which had guests queuing for a chance to experience the exhibition, exploring what extraterrestrial life might look like and immerse themselves into unknown worlds within and beyond our own solar system. The exhibition is presented in dual language English and French.
The Musée de la Civilisation is Quebec City’s premier culture and humanities museum. The Science of Aliens exhibition, which is the biggest of its kind exploring the possibility of extraterrestrial life has been seen by more than 1 million people worldwide since its opening in October 2005 and its sister show is due to open at the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum in June 2009.
